HOW TO JOIN MMAC

There are few steps to becoming a MMAC member.

MMAC has two possible streams for potential applicants to be licensed by our organization.

Applicants who are current or past vocational ministers, who have formal theological or ministry training, and/or have already been licensed by a comparable religious body, will be categorized as Stream 1 at the discretion of MMAC. This prompts a shortened application/approval process.

Applicants in Stream 2 are first-time ministers, those with limited theological or ministry experience and education, or those who have no previous licensing with a comparable religious body. This process includes meeting with a MMAC mentor to ensure the applicant is prepared and supported in their ministry. Stream 2 applicants can expect to spend a minimum of one year in this mentorship process before licensing is considered.

Once our approval committee has confirmed which stream is best suited for you, we will let you know what the next steps in the process will look like, but here is what the process typically includes:

- Criminal Records Check
- Reference provided

- Possible Interview with members of the board, at discretion of Approval Committee
- Membership Fee
- Coordinator Issues credentialing document & payment receipt
- Registration with Vital Statistics (if desired)

- Attend introductory meeting with other new MMAC ministers
